Admission Requirements
- Fall admission only.
- Applications accepted September 1 - January 5.
- All Dental Hygiene Prerequisite Courses must be completed prior to submitting an application.
- Interview required.
- Completion of UHM General Education Core recommended.
Note: UHM Dental Hygiene faculty advisors will work with interested students to plan for timely completion of prerequisites. See the catalog for additional information important prior to application. If an applicant’s native language is not English or if they have not obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an English-speaking college, then the applicant must submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores with a minimum score of 600. Requirements for Transfer Students who have completed an Associate Degree or Certificate in DH
- Min. 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Min. 3.0 GPA in Dental Hygiene courses.
- Passed the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination.
- Completion of courses equivalent to: DH 361 , DH 370 , DH 389 , and DH 390 /DH 391
- Certification in the administration of intra-oral anesthesia (including regional blocks).
- Subject to space availability.
