One Health (Interdisciplinary Studies), Certificate


Completion Requirements


  • Minimum certificate credits: 15
  • Minimum grade of C (not C-) in courses
  • Minimum exit GPA of 2.5 in the certificate equivalent

Requirements


Undergraduates or post-baccalaureate students majoring in any field will be eligible

Fields of concentration for certificate: Food and Animal Science, Plant and Environmental Science, Biomedical Science, Ocean and Earth Science, Public Health Science

Program (15 credits)


Core Course Requirements


IS 490 - One Health Seminar  and IS 395 - One Health Journal Club  are new courses created for the certificate program.

Capstone Requirement


Students are required to complete a capstone project which may be either a mentored research project or a supervised practicum/internship

Elective Courses


In addition to the core courses, students are required to take two, approved, 300+ level One Health-related courses from different departments including Food and Animal Science, Plant and Environmental Science, Biomedical Science, Ocean and Earth Science, Public Health Science.

  • 300+ One Health-related course 1 (2-3 credits)
  • 300+ One Health-related course 2 (2-3 credits)

The current list of approved, elective One Health-related courses may be obtained from Interdisciplinary Studies advisors.

Total Credit Requirement


Core course credits, capstone course credits, and qualifying elective course credits may be counted toward the 15-credit certificate completion requirement.
