Requirements
To fulfill the major requirements: Students who take both JPN 301 and JPN 302 must pass a minimum of 35 credits. Students who place into JPN 302 must pass a minimum of 31 credits. Students who place into JPN 401 or JPN 403 are required to choose one additional elective to fulfill the 30 credits. Students who place out of all advanced language courses are required to choose two additional electives to fulfill the 30 credits. Advanced language courses (JPN 301 to JPN 401 /JPN 403 ) are normally limited to non-native speakers of Japanese. Native speakers may substitute the advanced language requirements with two additional electives to fulfill the 30 credits. These electives should be chosen in consultation with an advisor. Japanese Advanced Language Courses (6-11 credits)
JPN 358 , JPN 359 , and JPN 458 are the courses students take while they are studying abroad. They are equivalent to JPN 301 , JPN 302 , and JPN 401 , respectively. Japanese Content Courses (12 credits)
