- To graduate from COE, students must meet the college’s higher GPA requirement(s).

Licensure Track Admission Requirements
- Spring admission.
- Submit an application no later than the following:
- October 1 for spring semester
(Sept 1 priority deadline) - 2.75 cumulative GPA in all post-secondary institutions
- 2.75 cumulative GPA in academic major
- 55 credits
- Completion of all UHM General Education Core and any additional Licensure Track Prerequisites.
- Applicants who have completed an articulated A.A. degree from a UH Community College are considered to have met the UHM General Education Core Requirements with possible exceptions (see an academic advisor).
- Once you are admitted to the College of Education, you are required to verify with a College of Education OSAS advisor when you have completed one of the following degrees (if applicable):
- AA in Liberal Arts-Concentration in Secondary Education from Kapiʻolani Community College
- AS in Natural Science (ASNS)-Certificate of Achievement in STEM Education from Kapiʻolani Community College
- AAT or AST from Leeward Community College
- 40 hours of documented current group leadership involvement with secondary-aged youth.
- Personal admissions interview.
- This major is dependent on the availability of mentor teachers. Please see an academic advisor for further information.
- Completion of academic major courses.

Required Courses
STE 402J & STE 404J : concurrent registration required and courses are only offered in the Fall. STE 405J & STE 406 : concurrent registration required; in order to qualify for STE 405J & STE 406 , students must document completion of 30 credits in subject area with courses approved by the College of Education. Required Courses
Required LATN courses that are no longer offered may be substituted with advisor approval. LATN 490 is repeatable and may be substituted for one or more of the below Latin courses. Recommended additional elective courses:

Notes: *Students with Latin proficiency may be able to complete this degree in four years.
Additional Application Requirements: 40 hours of documented experience; interview; 55 credits. Minimum 45 upper division (300+ course) credits are required.
Students may progress more quickly through their foreign language sequence by taking a placement exam and/or summer courses.
Students must incorporate all focus requirements into this plan. Focus designations (i.e., W, E, O, H) are CRN specific & semester specific.
