The Department of Anthropology offers a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degree pathway. Most students in this program will be able to complete an MA degree in cultural or biological anthropology within 5 years; coursework completed to satisfy BA requirements are counted towards fulfillment of the MA degree. Notes: *Course is strongly recommended but is not a requirement for majors. Minimum 45 upper division (300+ course) credits are required. Students may consult the Anthropology department for a “five year schedule” that shows when electives will be offered. Students must incorporate all focus requirements into this plan. Focus designations (i.e., W, E, O, H) are CRN specific & semester specific. §Double counted course for purposes of BAM. ANTH 300 is the gateway course for the BAM, will usually be taken in Year 3 Fall semester. **indicates a core course for the MA; students are required to select three ouf of the following: ANTH 600, ANTH 603 , ANTH 605 , and ANTH 611 . Applied Cultural Track will select ANTH 601 and ANTH 682 in year 4. 160 credits represent 120 (years 1 through 4) + 21 (year 5) + 9 from double-counted courses. |
