ECE 470 - Physical Optics

Credits: 3

Fundamentals of classical physical optics emphasizing linear systems theory, including optical fields in matter, polarization phenomena, temporal coherence, interference and diffraction (Fourier optics). Specialized applications include Gaussian beams, laser resonators, pulse propagation, and nonlinear optics.

Prerequisites: ECE 372  (or concurrent with a minimum grade of C-) or PHYS 450  (or concurrent with a minimum grade of C), or consent.
